Vacation Mode: How to Stay Healthy and Build Momentum While Enjoying Summer

What if every vacation, weekend getaway, and staycation this summer supported the health and lifestyle progress you want?

One of the questions I hear often is:
“How do I stay healthy on vacation without feeling like I’m missing out?”

What if each day actually created momentum toward the things you’ve been wanting for years?
A healthier feeling body. More energy. The rest you’ve needed for a long time.

What if your summer fun didn’t take you off track—but actually supported the changes you’ve been wanting to make? The recipes you’ve been curious about. The foods you’ve wanted to try. The calm you’ve been craving.

And what if it could be simpler than you think?

Small, intentional moments in your summer can create momentum that compounds over time into the reinvention you’ve been wanting.

Now I know you might be thinking—

WTF is this lady talking about?
I’m trying to lay by the pool, eat my favorite foods, and enjoy my vacation.

And I get it.

You’ve been working hard. This is your time to play hard.

The cool thing is that you get to redefine what that means for YOU!

You get to reinvent your vacation.

Start with vision and clarity

Get clear on what you actually want to experience.

If you were already the healthiest, happiest version of yourself:

  • What would you want?

  • What would you choose?

  • What would you be thinking?

  • What would you be craving?

Pause for a minute. Don’t rush it.

Maybe grab a journal or open a note on your phone and just let it come out.

Tap into the feeling

Once the vision gets a little clearer, shift into the feeling of it.

How would that version of you feel in your body?

How would you walk?
How would you stand?
How would you carry yourself?

Then bring it into your summer

Now start noticing what actually supports that version of you on vacation:

  • The places you want to go

  • The foods you want to enjoy

  • The ways you want to move your body

  • The kind of rest you actually need

Make a list.
Do a brain dump.
Create a vision board if that’s your thing.

Just get it out of your head and into something you can see.

Then decide

This is the part most people skip.

Decide.

You get to decide what you eat.
You get to decide where you go.
You get to decide how you move.
You get to decide how you want to feel.

It’s not about being perfect.
It’s a practice.

Healthy habits don’t have to take a vacation

This isn’t about restriction.
It’s not about being “good.”

It’s about creating a life where rest, joy, movement, nourishment, and fun all get to exist together.

Maybe this summer is different

Maybe vacation mode doesn’t mean putting your well-being on hold.

Maybe it becomes part of the lifestyle you’re creating.

Maybe this summer isn’t about starting over in September.

Maybe it’s about building momentum.

One walk.
One meal.
One memory.
One decision at a time.
